Sweet and spicy like cinnamon

Quite sour, with some bitterness
OVERALL Overall Rating:
This is by far the most adorable little apple I have ever seen in my life. I want this in a bowl on the counter, to decorate the top of apple cakes, to whip out of my purse at parties…you get the idea. As for eating — it is too tart, with too much core for its petite size and the brown flesh is just off putting. This could be a great, ornery little apple to give out at Halloween if there wasn’t that whole razor-blades-in-apples thing to worry about and if you didn’t care that neighborhood kids hate you.

NOTES
To be fair, crab apples generally aren’t eaten raw but I did not know this when I bit into it. Buyer beware. How can something that ridiculously cute not be snack worthy? I can not wrap my brain around this.
i don’t care that neighbor kids hate me. 😉 there’s a crab apple tree very close to my house, but i don’t know if it’s the same variety. we used to eat them raw when we were kids all the time. got diarrhea an’ everything! but it was worth it in those late summer days, hangin’ out at the creek, wondering what to do next.
