Cutest little pineapple I have ever seen. The base is just slightly bigger than a lemon and fits perfectly in the palm of my hand, which is great except that it is a little prickly and I really have no need to carry around a teensy weensy pineapple.

This pineapple is so adorable that when I bought it I wanted to pin it right to my shirt and pretend it was a broach. People use the normal ones in hats, so why can’t I wear this little one as a pin? Its good tasting too, but what a pain to cut. I mean pineapples are irritating to chop up anyway, but the return on investment here just isn’t very high for how small it is. Supposedly you can eat the core on these, but I thought it was fairly hard and crunchy and I fail to see the big value add in that.

Called the Queen Victoria Pineapple or South African Baby Pineapple. Apparently back in colonial times, hostesses used to rent pineapples for their parties in order to look fancy. They later had to give them back so some rich person could buy them and actually get to eat them. I can’t help but wonder how rich you could be if you are willing to buy a used pineapple for your snack. You should have no shame pineapple renters of old – at least you got it new!
