King Kong Pluot

August 18th, 2009 | Fruit Maven

If you look fabulous from far away but have absolutely no personality whatsoever, then this is the fruit for you!
APPEARANCE ★★★★☆

Notably shiny and smooth, dark brilliant purple, no bloom, inside is a watery yellow

AROMA ★★☆☆☆

Mild grassy smell

TEXTURE ★★★★☆

Juicy and tender

TASTE ★★☆☆☆

Mild and sweet, flavor is not very noticeable, grassy notes and a bitter, shocking peel. The flesh is very middle-of-the-road, not good not bad

OVERALL ★★★☆☆

This is definitely one of the prettiest pluots to look at and smoothest to touch but the inside was so ho hum I was bored and barely finished the review.
